Osmonds 50th Anniversary

Just a reminder that Jimmy will be a guest on GMTV tomorrow to promote the UK release of "The Osmonds 50th Anniversary - Reunited In Las Vegas" DVD which hits the stores on Monday May 19th.

We do not have an exact time of when Jimmy will be on air, but he is due to arrive at the studios in Upper Ground Street just after 7.30am.

He will leave GMTV at approximately 9.30am to be interviewed for YOU Magazine in their "In A Taxi" feature.

At around midday he will arrive at BBC Westen House, Gildea Steet, London W1, to record his "Tracks of My Years" for the Radio 2 Ken Bruce Show - his selections will air daily week commencing May 19th.

He will then be doing some press interviews, returning to Western House at approximately 1.45pm to do regional radio. Here are some of the programmes we have details for:

We have lots of exciting news on the UK release of the DVD - The Osmonds 50th Anniversary - Reunited Live In Las Vegas (OS1001). This double DVD in the special Collectors Edition Gold Box will now be available in stores throughout the UK on Monday May 19th and will be accompanied by the release of a special Collectors Edition Double CD also titled The Osmonds 50th Anniversary - Reunited Live In Las Vegas (OSCD1001). This CD has 24 tracks, including a Bonus Disc with 5 tracks not released anywhere else!

To kick off the promotion of the DVD & CD Hello! Magazine will have a feature on the whole family with exclusive photos from their recent performance for Children's Miracle Network in Orlando.

On Friday May 23rd Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, Marie and Jimmy will be guests on the award winning programme Friday Night With Jonathan Ross (this show will be pre-recorded).

The family will also be appearing on GMTV on Tuesday May 20th (this will be by live link-up - they will not be in the London studios).

SALT LAKE CITY — The Osmonds—America’s favorite family of entertainment—including the Osmond Brothers, Donny, Marie and Jimmy—will be featured as guest artists for this year’s Pioneer Day Concert by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square.

The concerts will be presented on Friday, 25 July and Saturday, 26 July at 7:30 p.m. in the Conference Center on Temple Square. Mack Wilberg, music director, will be conducting.

“We are honored and pleased to have the Osmond Family join us as guest artists for our Pioneer Day concert this year,” said Mack Wilberg, who will direct both the Choir and Orchestra on the concert. “The members of this wonderful musical family are true pioneers, not only as Latter-day Saints in the entertainment business but also as landmark recording and performing artists and so they are a great fit for this concert. We have planned a program that showcases the Choir and at the same time features some of the wonderful music the Osmonds are famous for.”

“This has truly been an amazing year for our family,” said Jimmy Osmond, youngest of the Osmond brothers. “After performing to sold-out concerts all over the world, there is no better grand finale for us to celebrating our 50 years of entertainment than to return home to Utah where it all started with the four original Osmond Brothers. Being invited to perform with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square is a great personal honor for us.”

The concert will be a retrospective on the Osmond’s musical legacy and will feature not only musical highlights from throughout their careers but will also take advantage of the multi-media capabilities of the Conference Center to show video passages from their past performances.

Free tickets for these concerts are required. Because of the anticipated high demand for tickets to this event, tickets will be distributed through the random selection process used last year for Christmas concert ticket requests.

Those interested may register on the Internet at www.lds.org/events for the opportunity to receive tickets starting Saturday, 24 May, at 12:01 a.m. through Monday, 2 June, 2008 at 11:59 p.m. Those without Internet access, may register over the phone at (801) 570-0080 (local) or at 1-866-LDS-TIKS. All registrations received during those ten days will have equal chances at receiving tickets in the random selection process.

Not all registrations will be selected to receive tickets, and only one registration per household can be accepted. The maximum number of tickets that a household may request will be four. Tickets will be mailed to those selected shortly after the registration process closes. Patrons not selected to receive tickets will be notified by e-mail.

Standby tickets for those without tickets will not be issued. However, patrons are invited to stand by for last-minute seating both evenings. The standby line will form at the North Gate on Temple Square at 6 p.m.

The doors of the Conference Center will open at 6:00 p.m. The length of the evening performance will be approximately 90 minutes. Seating is limited to those 8 years of age and older. Guests are asked to allow extra time for travel and parking in order to be seated 30 minutes before the performance begins.

Each version contains some fantastic bonus footage and gives you insight into this phenomenal family's 50 years in entertainment!

If you missed the Oprah show that aired in November, get ready! The show will be re-aired on March 11th. This is the show that featured over 100 Osmonds in the studio and a nice tribute to Osmond patriarch, George Osmond! You won't want to miss this special show!

Great News! The Osmonds' 50th Anniversary DVD is #4 in Amazon sales and the companion CD, Live in Vegas is ranked at #1! Denon is releasing an e-card advertising the 50th Anniversary and we thought you might like to see it! The e-card contains a video clip so it takes a little bit to download, but it's well worth it when it finishes. Be sure to click on the links contained in the e-card as well, as it will give you information on what's on the various DVD's as well as the tracks on the CD. Also pay close attention to the e-card, because it lets you know when the Oprah show will be re-aired that features all of the Osmonds!

Exciting news! We've just received our first shipment of the 50th Anniversary Fan Reunion DVD's! We have started sending them out and will continue to send them out daily over the next few weeks. We have received a large volume of orders for this DVD and our staff is working as fast as they can to get them out to you. We are getting closer! For all of you who have pre-ordered the Limited Edition 50th Anniversary DVD, you can now get a sneak peek of the cover! The DVD has a new name which is called The Osmonds 50th Anniversary Fan Reunion. It will be approximately 60-minutes in length, contain footage you will not see anywhere else, and the good news is it is just about finished! It will include the meet and greet portion of the 50th Anniversary Event with a sneak peek of what's to come on the 50th Anniversary Special. The expected delivery date will be after the first of the year.

We also have another TV alert for you. Entertainment Tonight will be featuring an hour-long show dedicated to the Osmonds. You will want to check your local listings for time and channel.

The response from the Osmonds' appearance on the "Oprah" show has been tremendous and very positive. More than 10 million viewers tuned in to see the Osmonds on her show. If you missed "Oprah" on Friday, November 9th, you can see some recaps of her show along with some other footage from Oprah's "After the Show" online. This includes a special tribute to George Osmond by the Second Generation. Also, you may purchase a transcript of the Osmonds' appearance on the Oprah show.

Entertainment Tonight will be in Branson, Missouri, Tuesday, November 13th, to do some taping with Jimmy, Jay, and Wayne, and Donny will also be shown throughout the week discussing their 50th Annviersary.
